    Departs at 6PM sharp, returning at 9PM

    • It will be about a 35 minute drive (not including Friday evening rush hour traffic). Please account for traffic and parking in your timing so you will not miss the boat departure!

    • Please make sure to give yourself plenty of time to find parking

    • Metered parking, paid public parking lots, and paid parking garages available

    • Coaster Rail Service ($6.50 one way)

      • Carlsbad Poinsettia Station: 6511 Avenida Encinas, Carlsbad, CA 92009, 5 miles from Hotel​

      • 1hr ride down the coast, to Santa Fe Depot

      • 10 minute walk (0.5 miles) to Pier 1

      • Recommended Departures: 3:49 PM, 4:49 PM

    COASTER SCHEDULE & INFORMATION

  • If you are flying into SAN that day, the airport is less than 10 minutes away from the boat departure if you want to stay in the Downtown San Diego area.

     

    Seaport Village and Little Italy are both cute areas to walk around and explore that are walking distance to the Pier.

Things to do

  • Visit the Carlsbad Village (Downtown) area (10 min drive from the hotel). It's quite walkable and there are many great spots there like:

    • Board & Brew (many locations, but closest will be in Carlsbad Village): Viv & Vylana's Favorite Sandwich spot. Try the Turkado and ask for extra secret sauce on the side!

    • Coffee To name some: Revolution Roasters, Lofty Coffee, Steady State Roasting, Better Buzz (if you like sweet)

    • Breweries (Pure Project, Pizza Port, Docent Brewery)

    • Brunch (Shorehouse Kitchen, Wildland, Cafe Topes)

    • Tamarack Beach - where Vylana's parents go walking every night, easy spot to pick up some lunch (like Board & Brew) and eat on the sand!

    • Ice Cream (Handel's Homeade Ice Cream (Classic Ice Cream shop) & Stella Jean's (asian flavors))

  • A cooler hipper version of Carlsbad with a lot of great food and drink options

    • Moonlight Beach - Vylana's favorite beach growing up

    • Lots of coffee options: Philz Coffee, Lofty Coffee, Bird Rock Coffee, Necessity Coffee, Pannikin (a local establishment very homey)

    • The Taco Stand - one of Vylana's favorite taco places in San Diego

    • Encinitas Fish Shop - good seafood option

    • Swami's Cafe - classic beach cafe, perfect for a post-surf meal

    • Modern Times - SD brewery
